Café Down the Lane Opening Hours changed

Café Down the Lane is situated behind Portswood High Street in Southampton and accessed via the lane in between the Post Office and October Books.

Starting from the New Year, the Café Down the Lane will be open on Mondays from 1.30pm to 3.30 pm and Tuesdays from 12pm to 3.30pm.

The café is an enterprising venture run by Southampton Mencap with the purpose of supporting people with learning disabilities to gain valuable skills in catering and customer service, building their confidence and independence to help them along the way to mainstream employment opportunities.

Serving a delicious range of home-made food at reasonable prices and freshly prepared on the premises, the café also welcomes music students from the University of Southampton to perform (usually on the first Tuesday of each month) to a delighted audience at no extra cost.

This is definitely worth a visit!
