Northam Local Conversation

In 2016, West Itchen  Community Trust  secured People’s  Health Trust (PHT) funding to support  community projects  in Northam.

We ran a number of  activities and community events in Northam (photos below) and spoke to hundreds of local people about their hopes and dreams for the area.

Now we are looking to work with local residents to help you drive the change you want to see around you. And in coming months we will be hosting a number of initiatives in Northam again.

We want to work with residents to develop ideas they want to see, ensuring that people living in Northam are funding and supporting projects for Northam to meet local priorities.

Our priority in 2018/19 is working together to create grass root activities that bring communities together.

No matter what experience or time you can give, you can be part of making Northam a better place to live, grow and work.

Grants

People’s Health Trust grants are supporting many new activities in Northam and are available NOW to develop new ideas into actual groups or activities.

Awarded through the Peoples Health Trust’s Local Conversation programme, which involves supporting residents to take control of the design, development and delivery of the local initiatives by developing a shared vision for their community, this grant fund forms part of a wider plan to improve the area so that the St Marys area becomes a better place to grow, live and work.

Grants awarded each year will vary between ÂŁ100 minimum and ÂŁ5000 maximum. Projects must be able to demonstrate a high level of social return, and added value for the local area and community. Grants awarded will vary.

Three priority categories were identified during our local conversation and are agreed as priority for this year:

  • Grass root activities that bring communities together.
  • Capacity building. Building on what’s working well
  • Improved community space to meet and do things

Further information is available here:

Make your application using WICT Northam Grant Application Form and WICT Financial Sheet Grant Form Northam.  Both forms should be submitted together.
