Male Circumcision Alert: Keeping Children Safe

The Muslim Council of Southampton (MCS) has been working closely with Hampshire Constabulary on ‘Operation Jetson’ – investigating physical assaults against children, relating to circumcision procedures performed on boys at home. They are particularly concerned about the activities of Dr Mohammed Siddiqui.

Mohammed Siddiqui, aged 52, was arrested in July 2018 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains under investigation.

DCI Fiona Bitters, of Hampshire Constabulary has said “This is a large investigation …. we would like to speak to anyone who may have information that can help us. We are asking parents/guardians of boys circumcised privately since 2015 to contact police on the following e-mail:

Operation.Jetson@hampshire.pnn.police.uk or by ringing 101

The Police are investigating this practice to ensure the safeguarding of young male children.

MCS alerts parents and families to ensure they use well qualified clinicians registered with the Care Quality Commission.

If you need information or a list of suitable clinicians please contact Muslim Council of Southampton (MCS) on mcs.chair@outlook.com
