West Itchen Community Trust Ltd is a social enterprise established for the community development and regeneration of inner-city Southampton.

As a social enterprise we make our money from commercial property investment but our profits are re-invested into the West Itchen area. We do not have shareholders, we have members and together we are supporting a vibrant community.

Our Mission is:

To work as an independent Trust to continue with the regeneration of the West Itchen area, to champion its needs and to assist the aspirations of the people living and working there.

To develop the assets of the Trust and to assist other organisations in the area bid for funds.

Our Vision

Our Mission Statement has been developed into our Vision for the area:

  • Our Vision is to create a vibrant community within which people are proud to live and work. We will seek to create an area where people are willing to invest money and effort secure in the knowledge their investment will reap a return. We will work to ensure a greater proportion of the wealth created is retained within the community.
  • We will strive to improve the economy of the area and the prospects of those that live and work here. We will try to improve the opportunities open to them.
  • We will improve the image of the area. We will try to engender in its residents a sense of pride of place and a desire not to accept second best. There will be a desire to improve the look of the area.
  • We will be inclusive. All who live and work in the area will be encouraged to take part in fulfilling the Vision.

Supporting a vibrant community…
